Double Page Spread Ideas

Hello! As I said in my last blog, my magazine will be about the Bahamas. For the double-spread, I wanted to do something creative but as well as realistic. So I came up with the idea of 24 hours in the Bahamas. It is something that I can use in each volume of the magazine I am making. It would be like a staple article. Let me know if you like the idea or have any of your own that you would like to see. Yours Truly,       bsasza

Location Location Location

Hello! Here is a quick update! I originally wanted to shoot in Miami, FL but since my plans hit a bump in the road there was a change of plan. Fortunately, it's Spring Break! My friend and her family are going on a trip to the Nassau and my family has decided to tag along. So my magazine is going revolve around the Bahamas. Can't wait for y'all to see the pictures! Until then, I'll leave you with this post. Yours Truly,     bsasza

Layout Update!

Hello! I forgot to inform you what I will be using to create this magazine. The two most common options to create a magazines were Canva and Joomag. I tested both websites to see what suited me the most and I felt more comfortable with. I wanted something that was going to help me create the vision I had.  I have been using  Canva since I was a sophomore in high sch0ol so you can say I am an experienced user. I enjoy that it is user-friendly  with many virtues like free icons but it can be limiting as you can't be as creative with it as   possible . Our teacher, Mrs. Marchetti, has given us the opportunity to use  JooMag . A website that many  students have used in the past but as I started to play with tools and figure out how to use it, I realized it is not  as user-friendly. So I decided I will be using Canva instead. Yours Truly,       bsasza

Layout Pt.1

Image
Hello! As I stated in my last blog, I will be working on designing the layout of the magazine. I have already started looking at travel magazines to get an idea of what I wanted to do. Here is what I have been loving so far and why! These magazines are very minimalistic which many people are loving especially the target audience I will be focusing on. Although I do like these magazines, they not your usual travel magazine which is okay but I wouldn't like to stray so far away.  Compared to the magazines above, these magazines have more life to them. The colors are vibrant which makes the magazine more appealing to the eye, especially for a travel magazine. The ultimate goal is for the cover to be so aesthetically pleasing it makes the reader want to see what's inside. Hopefully, my magazine will be the perfect fit between the two! Oh no !

Hello! I have barely started and there is already a bump in the road. As in my schedule, I was going to start shooting some pictures for the magazine but changes will have to be made. Unfortunately, my schedule, my friends, and my family doesn't coincide. I won't have the car this week to be able to drive to locations that I wanted to shoot at. My friends are also having a busy week which leaves me no one to shoot with. I have decided to switch the days I will shoot and layout. This will allow me to take pictures during Spring Break which is fantastic since I will have more free time but most of my friends will be gone. As I right now, I will face the challenges along the way. Now it's time to shift gears and get started on the layout. Yours Truly,       bsasza

Keeping Up with the Magazine

Hello! Due to my busy life as a full-time student and part-time worker, I tend to lose track and get behind which I can't afford with this project. I decided to make a schedule that will help me to keep focus in order to finish the magazine on time for the deadline which is April 14th which means I have less than a month to complete and submit. So here is my schedule: March 21   - Post a blog        -  Take pictures for cover 23   - Post a blog        - Take pictures for table of contents & spread 26   - Post a blog        - Layout front cover 28   - Post a blog        - Layout table of contents 30   - Post a blog        - Layout spread April 02   - Post a blog        - Work on headlines and subheadlines 04   - Post a blog        - Work on tabl...

Feedback Frenzy !

Image
Hello! It's March 16 and today we had our first feedback session in class. We were in groups of six students. We all showed each other our blogs and ideas for our projects. It was very helpful since I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I had so many ideas that it was hard to make a decision. The only thing I knew as I stated in my last blog is that m magazine name would be PARAƍSO. With the feedback, I received from my peers, not only was I able t get a general direction where I wanted to take my magazine towards but inspirations for it as well. Here is an inside look at what I want to do as of right now!
